Pulmonology Sleep Medicine & Critical Care
The division of Pulmonology Critical Care and Sleep medicine is a new offshoot of advanced respiratory life support and intensive care. A person can expect to survive without eating or drinking for days or weeks. But a person who cannot breath cannot be expected to survive for more than few minutes; such is the importance of the lungs. The Pulmonology division understands this priority and gives utmost importance and specialized care where prevention is the highlight in protecting the lungs from airborne allergies, environmental air pollution, airborne infections (pneumonia) as well as blood spread infections or pulmonary edema ,secondary to inflammatory insults and infections (ARDS) or cardiac failure ( left ventricular failure). Early diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer, asthma, ILD, pulmonary hypertension, obesity with hypertension, snoring and sleep apnoea is of prime importance in this department, which has the credit of having the best ventilatory support group for state of the art management of ARDS with remarkable results.
